Empowering Young Women through Horsemanship

Please note as of August 2021 we have placed Abel Tasman Horse Trekking into hibernation due to the effects of COVID 19. We are currently only running Equine Inspired Charitable Trust and the Horses Helping Humans Program.

Our unique youth programs for Young Women aged 12 to 18, are designed to foster positive equine experiences, leading to both personal and interpersonal skill development.

Our participants will learn how to care for, communicate and connect with a horse, who they will partner with for the duration of the course. Our horses create a non judgmental environment in which individuals can safely step out of their comfort zones as they learn to interact with the horse, both on the ground and in the saddle.

Our simple process of Plan- Do- Review for each session, allows for reflection and growth to be recognized and celebrated. This can then be transferred to other areas of participants lives ultimately leading to positive personal development.

Area’s of growth can include

  • Resilience
  • Self Esteem
  • Confidence
  • Empathy
  • Assertiveness
  • Trust
  • Emotional awareness
  • Body Language
  • Communication skills

This program runs over 8 sessions during the school term, or as a block course over 4 days during school holidays.
